Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Praises PM Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign
New Delhi [India], September 26: Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. He planted a sapling at Soochna Bhawan as part of this drive, which encourages people to plant trees in honor of their mothers.
Speaking to reporters, Vaishnaw said, “We are fortunate to have inspiring leadership. From the ramparts of Red Fort, PM Modi had inspired us to keep our surroundings clean. In this context, we took a pledge at Soochna Bhawan and participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.”
He noted that the campaign is already seeing results with several plantation drives across the country. Vaishnaw also highlighted the achievements of the NDA government, attributing India’s success in various sectors to its leadership.
Additionally, Vaishnaw participated in the ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign at Soochna Bhawan, hosted by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), to raise awareness about cleanliness and environmental stewardship. He administered an oath to the ministry’s officers and staff, urging them to promote cleanliness and sustainable practices.
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign was inaugurated by PM Modi on June 5, World Environment Day. Under this campaign, people are encouraged to plant a sapling as a tribute to their mothers and share a picture using the hashtags #Plant4Mother. PM Modi emphasized the importance of protecting the environment and shared his own tree-planting experience, encouraging others to do the same. He also highlighted India’s efforts over the past decade to increase forest cover.
