Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal Highlights New Criminal Laws at CBI Ceremony in Ghaziabad
New Delhi, India – Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced that the new criminal laws will greatly improve the quality of life for Indian citizens. He emphasized that these laws will speed up justice delivery, saving time for everyone involved in legal cases. Meghwal believes this will help develop society and lead to higher progress for the nation.
Meghwal noted that India’s economy has grown from the 11th to the 5th largest in the world and aims to reach the 3rd position soon. He credited reforms in the judicial process as a key factor in this progress. He also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of India playing a major role globally in the 21st century, similar to how Europe and the USA led in the 19th and 20th centuries, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) held an investiture ceremony at the CBI Academy in Ghaziabad. Meghwal presented the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service to 39 CBI officers. He congratulated the medal winners and their families, calling it a proud moment and an inspiration for all service officials.
Meghwal praised the CBI for its high conviction rate and its reputation as the best investigating agency. He noted the frequent demand for CBI probes in complex cases. CBI Director Praveen Sood also congratulated the medal recipients and their families, highlighting their hard work and resilience. Sood mentioned that the CBI and the Ministry of Law and Justice are working together to improve prosecution and investigation efficiency.
Sood explained that the CBI’s role has evolved over time, now handling special crimes, cybercrimes, and bank frauds. He stated that the CBI is already implementing the new criminal laws and is ready to assist states and other stakeholders. Rajiv Mani, Secretary of the Department of Legal Affairs, and other senior officials attended the ceremony along with around 90 family members of the medal winners.
