Union Minister Amit Shah Visits Chhattisgarh for Anti-Naxal and Development Meetings

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Chhattisgarh. He is accompanied by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy CM Vijay Sharma. During his visit, Shah will hold a series of meetings and inspect development work in the state.

Anti-Naxal Review Meeting

On Saturday, Shah will attend an interstate anti-Naxal review meeting. Chief Minister Sai mentioned that the meeting will involve seven Naxal-affected states. The Union Home Minister will assess measures against Naxal insurgency and infrastructure projects in Red corridor regions within nine states troubled by Left Wing Extremism (LWE).

The meeting will include chief secretaries and director generals of police from Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, and West Bengal. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and CRPF Chief Anish Dayal Singh are also expected to attend.

Cooperation Meeting

Shah will also chair a meeting on the expansion of cooperation in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

Inauguration of NCB Office

On August 25, Shah will inaugurate the Raipur Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office following a review meeting in the morning.
