Union Minister Ajay Tamta Criticizes Asaduddin Owaisi’s ‘Jai Palestine’ Remark in Parliament

New Delhi [India], June 26: Union Minister Ajay Tamta criticized AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi for ending his oath in the Lok Sabha with the words ‘Jai Palestine.’ Tamta stated that praising another country in India’s Parliament reflects Owaisi’s mentality and poses obstacles to PM Narendra Modi’s vision for India@2047.

Owaisi, who won his fifth consecutive term from Hyderabad by defeating BJP’s Madhavi Latha with a margin of 3,38,087 votes, defended his statement. He ended his oath with ‘Jai Bhim, Jai Meem, Jai Telangana, Jai Palestine’ and later posted on his official X handle, ‘Sworn in as a member of Lok Sabha for the fifth time. Inshallah, I will continue to raise issues of India’s marginalized with sincerity.’

Owaisi explained that his remark was to highlight the plight of Palestinians, referencing Mahatma Gandhi’s statements on Palestine. He challenged critics to show how his words violated the Constitution.

Several Palestinians have been suffering due to the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.
