UN Urges End to Gaza Conflict and Humanitarian Aid Access

UN Calls for End to Gaza Conflict

The United Nations has made a renewed appeal to end the ongoing war in Gaza. The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, highlighted the urgent need for the release of hostages, stopping the displacement of Palestinians, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Intensifying Crisis in Gaza

Wennesland expressed deep concern over the worsening situation, describing the scenes in northern Gaza as horrifying due to continuous conflict and Israeli airstrikes. He reported that dozens were killed in Beit Lahia during recent airstrikes, adding to the weeks of intensified operations that have resulted in numerous civilian deaths and a severe lack of humanitarian aid.

Call for Protection and Aid

Wennesland condemned the attacks on civilians and emphasized the need to protect them and cease their displacement. He stressed the importance of delivering humanitarian aid without hindrance and called for courage, political will, and renewed dialogue to end the suffering in Gaza and Israel.
