UN Praises PM Modi’s Global Influence Ahead of US Visit
New York [US], September 19: The spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s significant role in global diplomacy. Dujarric emphasized that both PM Modi and India’s voices are strong and important, especially for the Global South.
PM Modi is set to visit the United States from September 21 to 23. During his visit, he will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 23. The theme of the Summit is ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow’.
Dujarric highlighted the importance of the Summit, noting that it will discuss Security Council reforms, digital cooperation, and the reform of international financial institutions. He described the Summit as a ‘critical inflexion point’ for building a better world through enhanced cooperation among nations.
PM Modi will also participate in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by US President Joe Biden on September 21. The leaders will review the progress of the Quad and set the agenda for the coming year to support the development goals of the Indo-Pacific region.
Additionally, PM Modi will address the Indian community in New York on September 22 and meet with CEOs of leading US-based companies to discuss collaborations in AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology.
