Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy May Visit India by Year-End: Ambassador Polishchuk

New Delhi, India – Ukraine’s Ambassador to India, Oleksandr Polishchuk, announced that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy might visit India by the end of the year. This follows an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The exact dates will be decided based on mutual convenience.

Polishchuk expressed hope that the visit would happen, marking a significant step in the bilateral relationship between India and Ukraine. He emphasized that the visit would provide an opportunity for both leaders to discuss global peace-building efforts.

Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to Ukraine was brief due to security concerns, but a visit to India would allow for more extensive discussions. This visit was the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992.

They agreed on the importance of peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. The leaders also discussed global food security and the importance of uninterrupted agricultural supply to global markets, especially in Asia and Africa. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the need for practical engagement to develop solutions for early peace restoration.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Russian President Vladimir Putin also highlighted the roles of India, China, and Brazil in resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Putin mentioned that these countries are making sincere efforts to contribute to peace talks.
