In Mumbai, Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena (UBT) led by former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced additional candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. The party revealed that Harun Khan will contest from Versova, Sanjay Bhalerao from Ghatkopar West, and Sandeep Naik from Vile Parle.

Earlier, the party released its first list of 65 candidates, including Aaditya Thackeray, who will run from the Worli constituency. Aaditya has already filed his nomination. Another notable contest is between Kedhar Dighe, nephew of Anand Dighe, and CM Eknath Sindhe in the Kopri-Panchpakhadi constituency. Anand Dighe was a mentor to Eknath Sindhe.

Other candidates include Sunil Raut from Vikroli, Rajan Vichare from Than, Dipesh Mhatre from Dombivli, and Vaishali Sooryavanshi from Pachora. As the election date approaches, both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are ramping up their efforts.

The nomination process for the 288 assembly seats has begun, with polling scheduled for November 20 and results to be announced on November 23. In the previous 2019 elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.

Uddhav Thackeray -: Uddhav Thackeray is an Indian politician and the leader of a faction of the Shiv Sena party. He was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 2019 to 2022.
