Uddhav Thackeray Vows to Build Shivaji Temples Across Maharashtra
In a passionate speech at the Dussehra rally in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray criticized the ruling Mahayuti alliance, accusing them of using the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue for political gain. Thackeray promised that if the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition wins the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, he will construct Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj temples in every district.
Thackeray, invoking the legacy of his father Balasaheb Thackeray, expressed his readiness to challenge the current government, which he described as corrupt. He recalled a conversation with the late Ratan Tata, emphasizing the importance of carrying forward their respective legacies.
Thackeray also criticized RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning their commitment to Hindutva. He expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the Dharavi project, promising to cancel it if elected. Thackeray urged the Chief Justice of India to make decisive rulings to maintain public trust in the judiciary.
The upcoming Maharashtra elections will feature a contest between the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition and the ruling Mahayuti Alliance. The Election Commission of India has yet to announce the poll dates.
