UAE’s Sheikh Abdullah Meets Syria’s Faisal Mekdad to Strengthen Ties

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed Faisal Mekdad, Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, in Abu Dhabi. During a working dinner, they discussed ways to enhance the relationship between the UAE and Syria in various sectors, including development, to benefit both nations.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the long-standing fraternal relations between the UAE and Syria and their mutual commitment to cooperation for the benefit of their peoples. He also expressed his wishes for Syria’s security, stability, and prosperity.

The ministers exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly in the Middle East, and stressed the importance of collective Arab efforts to promote sustainable stability and meet the developmental aspirations of the region’s populations.

The meeting was also attended by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, and Hassan Ahmed Al Shehhi, UAE Ambassador to Syria.
