UAE’s Sheikh Abdullah and US’s Antony Blinken Discuss Middle East Peace Efforts

UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan had a phone call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to talk about recent developments in the Middle East. They focused on efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire and improve humanitarian aid for civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the United States’ efforts, in collaboration with key international partners, to achieve a sustainable ceasefire that ensures the protection of all civilians. He stressed the urgent need for coordinated and sustained efforts to address the immediate needs of civilians and deliver essential humanitarian aid in Gaza.

Sheikh Abdullah also highlighted the importance of reducing tensions, countering extremism, and stopping escalating violence in the region. He emphasized the need for a serious political pathway to resume negotiations aimed at achieving comprehensive peace, grounded in the two-state solution. Additionally, they discussed the situation in Sudan and its humanitarian repercussions.
