UAE’s Generous Aid Campaign for Lebanon

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched a two-week aid campaign called “UAE stands with Lebanon” to support Lebanon with essential supplies. In the first week, the campaign has successfully gathered over AED110 million worth of food, medical supplies, shelter equipment, and other relief materials.

Leadership and Support

This humanitarian effort is directed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with follow-up by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The campaign is supervised by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

Immediate Aid and Relief Efforts

Since the onset of the crisis, the UAE has provided immediate support to the Lebanese people, allocating US$100 million in urgent aid and USD 30 million for Lebanese refugees in Syria. A total of 10 relief planes carrying 450 tonnes of aid materials have been dispatched to Lebanon.

The UAE community, comprising people from around the world, has shown immense support, reflecting the humanitarian values and legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Relief planes -: Relief planes are special airplanes that carry supplies like food, medicine, and other important things to help people in need during emergencies.

Humanitarian spirit -: Humanitarian spirit means showing kindness and helping others, especially those who are in trouble or need support.
