UAE’s Commitment to Arab Issues Highlighted at 37th Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference
The UAE, represented by Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, emphasized its dedication to Arab issues, especially the Palestinian cause, at the 37th extraordinary conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva, Switzerland. Ghobash reiterated the UAE’s longstanding support for Arab rights and the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. This commitment aligns with the vision of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The conference, chaired by Ibrahim Boughali, President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, saw participation from various Arab parliamentary leaders. Ghobash highlighted the UAE’s efforts in providing relief and medical aid to Palestinians and Lebanese affected by recent conflicts, under the guidance of UAE leaders including President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The UAE’s aid efforts have accounted for over 40 percent of global assistance in these regions.
