UAE Unveils World’s First ChatGPT Tool for Farmers at COP29

UAE Develops Innovative ChatGPT Tool for Agriculture

At the COP29 event in Baku, Azerbaijan, Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri from the UAE Presidential Court announced the creation of the world’s first ChatGPT tool for the agricultural community, named “CHAG”. This tool aims to assist farmers, especially in challenging climates, by providing actionable insights based on over 50 years of research data.

Empowering Farmers with AI

During a session titled “In Partnering to Create AI-based Public Goods for One Billion+ Smallholders”, Almheiri highlighted how CHAG will help farmers make informed decisions about planting and harvesting, adapting to weather changes. Celeste Saulo from the World Meteorological Organisation emphasized the tool’s potential to transform general forecasts into practical advice for farmers.

UAE’s Leadership in Climate Initiatives

Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan discussed the UAE’s efforts in reducing carbon footprints and unlocking carbon markets. Fanny Modin from Seagrass-E.ON praised the UAE’s leadership in this sector.

Innovations in Sustainable Development

Sessions at COP29 showcased various tech solutions for climate goals. Bertrand Piccard presented his hydrogen-powered plane mission, while Nadia Rouchdy from Emirates Nature-WWF discussed the importance of data in decarbonization efforts.

Other sessions explored AI’s role in food systems and power grid innovations. The UAE’s commitment to sustainable energy and climate reporting was highlighted, with AI playing a crucial role in these advancements.
