UAE Strengthens Global Ties at B20 Summit in Brazil

The UAE hosted the UAE-Global Business Forum alongside the B20 meeting in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Organized by the UAE Ministry of Economy, the forum aimed to build strong relations with G20 nations and highlight the UAE’s role as a global trade hub. Key discussions focused on renewable energy, technology, and food security. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, led the delegation, emphasizing the importance of sustainable development and inclusivity in global trade.

The B20 Summit, held on October 24-25, gathered around 1,000 business leaders from G20 countries under the theme “Inclusive Growth for a Sustainable Future.” The UAE’s participation as an invited guest reflects its growing influence in global trade. The UAE delegation included Ambassador Saleh Ahmad AlSuwaidi, Consulate General Abdalla Shaheen, and Juma Mohammed Al Kait, along with 30 senior officials and business leaders.

Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi highlighted the role of the private sector in driving innovation and efficiency in global trade. He stressed the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors to ensure global supply chains remain growth enablers. The UAE’s trade with G20 countries reached USD 196.1 billion in the first half of 2024, marking a 4.1% increase from the previous year.
