UAE Show Jumping Team Competes in Paris Olympics

The UAE National Show Jumping Team will compete in the individual event at the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Representing the UAE are 14 athletes in five sports: equestrian, judo, athletics, cycling, and swimming.

The individual competition will feature 75 riders, with the top 30 advancing to the final stage based on faults and times. The UAE’s riders have completed their training and passed the veterinary inspection.

Sultan Mohammed Al Yahyai, Board Member of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, emphasized the importance of this participation, marking a milestone in the UAE’s equestrian journey. He noted the Federation’s commitment, under Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, to enhance Emirati capabilities through ambitious programs and collaborations.

Al Yahyai also highlighted the focus on developing female riders, providing them with opportunities to excel in show jumping and other sports. He expressed hope for future generations of female champions in equestrian sports.
