UAE Sends Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Through Israeli Crossings
The Israeli agency COGAT, which stands for Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories, has reported that humanitarian aid from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is being delivered to Gaza. This aid is entering through the Erez West Crossing located on Gaza’s northern border.
On Thursday, 15 trucks carrying goods from the UAE’s cargo ship named “MIRA” entered northern Gaza. These goods were initially delivered to the port of Ashdod. The shipment included 2,261 pallets filled with essential items such as water, medical equipment, shelter supplies, and hygiene products.
In total, over 300 trucks have started transporting the aid through the Erez and Kerem Shalom Crossings. Additionally, COGAT has facilitated the transfer of 16 patients and their caregivers from Gaza to Jordan for medical treatment via the Kerem Shalom crossing.
COGAT stated, “We remain committed to supporting humanitarian aid delivery through land, sea, and air routes in collaboration with international partners.” They emphasized their ongoing efforts to enhance humanitarian and medical support for the civilian population in Gaza.
