The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sent an aircraft carrying 37 tonnes of supplies for children and women to Lebanon. This is part of the ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign, which aims to support the Lebanese people during a difficult time. This marks the ninth flight of humanitarian aid sent to Lebanon.

Leadership and Guidance

The aid initiative follows the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is guided by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The campaign shows the UAE’s solidarity with Lebanon.

Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, the Minister of State for International Cooperation, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to helping Lebanon. She stated that the aid is part of the UAE’s vision to respond to humanitarian needs and support global peace and stability.

Ongoing Support

Since the campaign began, the UAE has delivered 375 tonnes of aid to Lebanon, including food, medical supplies, and provisions for children. On September 30th, the UAE President also directed $100 million in humanitarian relief for Lebanon and $30 million for displaced Lebanese citizens in Syria.
