UAE Launches ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ Campaign

On October 13, the UAE initiated the ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign, preparing 200 tonnes of aid in 10,000 relief packages. This effort, involving 4,000 volunteers, aims to support Lebanon during its humanitarian crisis. Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian principles and solidarity with Lebanon.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed US$100 million in aid, with US$30 million allocated for urgent relief to displaced Lebanese in Syria. Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also directed aid to benefit 250,000 people in Lebanon through the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.

Since October 4, the UAE has sent nine aircraft with 375 tonnes of essential supplies to Lebanon, in collaboration with international partners like WHO, UNICEF, UNHCR, and IFRC. More humanitarian flights are planned.

The campaign began on October 12 at Expo City Dubai, with further events at Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal and other emirates, supervised by the Emirates Red Crescent.
