UAE Embassy in Paris Hosts 10th Majlon Event Celebrating French-Emirati Friendship

The UAE Embassy in Paris, led by Ambassador Hend Al Otaiba, hosted the 10th edition of the Majlon at the Library of the French National Institute of Art History (INHA). The event took place in the beautiful Salle Labrouste and featured the launch of the embassy’s book ‘Majlon–Building Bridges Through Diplomacy’ (Mazara Edition).

The book, published in Arabic, French, and English, celebrates the deep-rooted friendship between the United Arab Emirates and France. It highlights key aspects of their relationship, including diplomacy, economy, women’s empowerment, coexistence, heritage, art, culture, and sustainable development.

This 10th edition of the Majlon brought together various high-level political, cultural, and business leaders. Notable attendees included Jack Lang, Chair of Institut du Monde Arabe, Arnaud Ngatcha, Deputy Mayor of Paris, Olivier Cadic, Senator of French citizens abroad, Baron Eric de Rothschild, Helene Valade, Environmental Development Director of LVMH, and Amin Kouider, conductor and UNESCO Artist for Peace.

Ambassador Hend Al Otaiba emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “By choosing to publish this book, we are sending a powerful message in support of the values shared by our countries and our vast collaborations. Diplomacy, economy, women empowerment, art and heritage, co-existence, and sustainability are bridges between cultures and tools for fostering dialogue between civilisations.”

Caterina Lo Mascolo Minthe, editor of the Majlon book and founder of UAE-based publishing house Mazara Edition, added, “We are thrilled to present this essential work to the public, confident that it will serve as an indispensable guide for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the shared values between the United Arab Emirates and France.”

The Majlon, a blend of the Emirati “Majlis” and the French “Salon”, aims to address key issues of mutual interest and deepen French-Emirati bonds. Since its start in 2022, the Majlon has hosted many important meetings on topics like space, culture, interfaith dialogue, and innovation.
