UAE-Brazil Business Council Launches in Sao Paulo
The UAE-Brazil Business Council held its first meeting in Sao Paulo during the G20 Business Summit (B20), aiming to enhance economic cooperation between the UAE and Brazil. Key figures such as Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and Saleh Ahmed Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Brazil, attended the meeting. The council was co-chaired by Mohamed Asaad Taher from MASDAR and Jefferson de Oliveira Gomes from CNI.

Discussions centered on boosting trade and investment in sectors like clean energy, manufacturing, sustainable agriculture, and technology. The UAE’s strategic position as a business hub was highlighted, emphasizing its infrastructure and regulatory environment.

The council aims to create partnerships that will enhance trade and investment opportunities. Taher emphasized the importance of the council in deepening economic ties, while Gomes highlighted the commitment to expanding the strategic partnership.

Trade between the UAE and Brazil has grown, with non-oil trade reaching USD 2.64 billion in the first half of 2024, an 18.2% increase from 2023. Brazil is the UAE’s largest trading partner in Latin America.
