On August 4, UAE jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts athletes celebrated significant victories at the fifth Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC) held at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City. The event featured 14 high-level matchups, bringing together 28 athletes from 26 countries.

UAE’s Omar Al Suwaidi, 21, triumphed over US’s Samuel Marquez by unanimous decision, maintaining a high pace throughout the fight. In the opening bout, UAE’s Balqees Al Hashmi dominated Russia’s Maria Odintsova, winning by unanimous decision.

International Champions

America’s Urijah Faber and Brazil’s Rayron Gracie emerged as champions. Faber won the no-gi trophy by defeating Brazil’s Bibiano Fernandes, while Gracie secured his second consecutive victory at ADXC by submitting Marcos Carrozzino.

American Chad Mendes defeated Brazilian Diego Brandao by unanimous decision. Portugal’s Pedro Ramalho narrowly beat Sweden’s Max Lindblad in a technical battle. Iranian fighter Pouya Rahmani showcased his strength by defeating Hamdy Abdelwahab with a chokehold. Brazilian Davi Vetoraci won against Tunisian Amin Boudhina with an armbar. Kazakhstan’s Seilkhan Bolatbek quickly defeated Emad Ahmedin of the Netherlands, and US fighter Abe Alsaghir triumphed over China’s Xiaosong Shi.
