UAE Ambassador and Indian Leaders Mourn the Passing of Ratan Tata

New Delhi, India – The UAE Ambassador to India, Abdulnasser Alshaali, expressed his sorrow over the death of Ratan Tata, a renowned industrialist. He extended his condolences to Tata’s family, the Tata Group, and everyone influenced by Tata’s legacy. Ratan Tata, aged 86, passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

In a heartfelt message, Alshaali described Tata as one of India’s most visionary leaders and philanthropists. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that Tata’s last rites would be conducted with full state honors. The Maharashtra government declared a day of mourning in his honor.

Tata’s body, draped in the national flag, was placed at the National Centre for the Performing Arts for public homage. His final journey was scheduled for 4 pm. Many leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, expressed their condolences. Shah will represent the Government of India at the last rites.

Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, led the Tata Group as Chairman from 1991 to 2012 and was later named Chairman Emeritus. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. The Maharashtra Cabinet, led by CM Eknath Shinde, proposed awarding Tata the Bharat Ratna posthumously.
