Two Men Arrested in Pune for Scaring People with Fake Gun on Satara Highway
In Pune, Maharashtra, two men named Akshay Gaikwad and Sunil Shinde were arrested for causing panic on the Satara Highway. The incident took place between Vadgaon Bridge and Warje Bridge, where the duo, both painters, were seen riding recklessly and brandishing a fake gun, which frightened commuters.
A video of their actions went viral, leading to their arrest by the Sinhagad Police. The police registered cases under the Motor Vehicles Act, Bombay Police Act, and other laws. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sambhaji Kadam explained that the gun was a fake firecracker gun used during Diwali, but the act was still considered an offense. The accused were driving dangerously, ignoring traffic rules, and one of them displayed the fake gun, making it look real and causing fear among the public.
Both men are now in police custody, facing charges for their reckless behavior and public intimidation.
