Two Arrested in Dhar for Misbehaving with Woman and Pressuring Her to Change Religion
In Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, two men were arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a 21-year-old woman and pressuring her to convert to Islam. The incident occurred on June 20 under the jurisdiction of Sadalpur police station.
Details of the Incident
Sadalpur police station in charge, Savita Chaudhary, explained that a young man named Shahrukh befriended the woman by hiding his religion. He later started talking about Islam and pressured her to adopt it. When the woman distanced herself, Shahrukh continued to harass her.
On June 20, the woman went to a medical shop where Shahrukh misbehaved with her and threatened her family. She shouted for help, and Shahrukh fled. The people present caught the medical shop owner, Junaid, and handed him over to the police.
Legal Action
The police have registered a case under IPC sections 354 and 354A, along with relevant sections of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act. Both Shahrukh and Junaid have been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
