The West Tripura district police seized 355 kg of ganja worth approximately Rs 70 lakh from a lorry in the Chandrapur area. This operation was part of the #NeshamuktTripura initiative. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha praised the police’s efforts towards a drug-free Tripura on social media platform X.

Earlier, on September 18, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) seized 44 kg of dried cannabis worth Rs 2.52 lakh near Agartala Railway Station. The narcotics were found during a search operation near the 13th rail track on the Agartala to Jirania route. The cannabis was allegedly being smuggled out of the state via train. An investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the illegal consignment.
