Tripura Governor Attends NCC Biannual Commanders Conference

On October 23, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu participated in the NCC Biannual Commanders Conference 2024 held in Agartala. The event saw a large gathering of NCC youth, featuring motivational activities. Major General Gagan Deep, the Additional Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), led a delegation of Group Commanders from the North Eastern Region (NER) for the conference, which runs from October 23 to 25.

During the three-day event, Group Commanders will brief the General Officer on the extensive activities of NCC cadets across the NER. A key highlight is the interaction between Governor Nallu and the officers and cadets, focusing on the NCC’s role in community development and youth engagement.

The conference provides a platform for approximately 5,300 NCC cadets from 95 schools and colleges in Tripura, including around 2,500 girl cadets, to showcase their talents and achievements. This engagement is a significant milestone for the cadets, who will demonstrate their skills to the Governor and NCC leadership.

Under Major General Gagan Deep’s guidance, discussions with the Tripura state government are underway for an organizational overhaul of the NCC in the region, aiming to enhance its effectiveness and outreach. The ADG will assess ongoing activities and share his vision for expansion and training initiatives. He will also engage with cadets, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), and instructors, who are crucial to the NCC’s mission in Tripura.

Senior officials will visit remote areas to evaluate training facilities, ensuring all NCC members have access to quality resources. The event highlights the NCC’s commitment to empowering youth in Tripura and the North East, promoting leadership, discipline, and community service among cadets.
