Tripura CM Manik Saha Highlights Farmer Development at PM-Kisan Event

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha spoke about the importance of developing farmers during an event for the release of the 18th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme in Agartala. He stressed that the country’s progress relies on farmer development.

Unified Farmers Database

The state government has launched a Unified Farmers Database to record farmer details, link land records, and conduct real-time crop surveys. This initiative aims to digitize and streamline agricultural processes.

Centres of Excellence

Two Centres of Excellence are being established at Lembuchara and Birchandra Manu for the scientific cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. These centers will provide high-quality planting materials to farmers.

Financial Support for Farmers

CM Saha expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the financial support provided to Tripura’s farmers. Around Rs 47.68 crore will be received by farmers in the state. In the previous installment, 2.59 lakh farmers benefited, with a total of Rs 737.49 crore received so far.

Impact of PM Modi’s Leadership

CM Saha highlighted the economic growth under PM Modi’s leadership, noting that schemes like providing Rs 6,000 annually to farmers help them purchase essentials. The Direct Benefit Transfer system ensures money is directly transferred to farmers’ accounts, eliminating middlemen.

Insurance Schemes

Around 13.89 lakh farmers benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in Tripura, and the state has launched the Mukhya Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, benefiting 3.81 lakh farmers.
