In Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha revealed that the state government has approved Rs 1.50 crore for Ayurvedic medicines. This announcement was made during the state-level Ayurvedic Day event. CM Saha also shared that the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Foundation is interested in setting up an Ayurvedic college in Tripura.

Advancements in Ayurveda

CM Saha, who is also the Health Minister, highlighted the progress in Ayurvedic treatments. He mentioned the presence of various labs and an outpatient department (OPD) at the 50-bed Ayurvedic Hospital. Discussions with Health Secretary Kiran Gitte revealed the foundation’s interest in establishing a college, and after verifying credentials, they plan to proceed.

Health Initiatives

Emphasizing the importance of health, CM Saha stated, “Health is wealth, and if health is not good, we cannot utilize human resources effectively.” The government is working on improving infrastructure, setting up a health hub, and planning a super-specialty hospital. The Ayurvedic medicines funded will be provided free to the public.
