On August 20, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu paid tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the last King of Tripura, on his 116th birth anniversary. The event took place at the Governor House (Rajbhawan) and was attended by the Maharaja’s grandson and other dignitaries.

On the same day, the MBB airport authorities in Agartala also honored Maharaja Bir Bikram. Officials, including CK Mallick, the acting APD, Civil Head TK Dey, and Operations HOD Smitha Prakash, paid tribute at the statue in front of the airport. Passengers joined the event, and videos about the Maharaja were displayed inside the terminal.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha paid tribute on social media, calling Maharaja Bir Bikram the ‘Architect of Modern Tripura.’ He praised the Maharaja’s progressive ideas and contributions to education, infrastructure, and culture.

A two-day celebration was organized in Khumulwng, West Tripura, by the INTACH Tripura Chapter and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). The event included a discussion panel and an exhibition showcasing the life and contributions of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur.
