Paarl Royals have announced Trevor Penney as their new head coach for the upcoming 2025 SA20 season, scheduled from January 9 to February 8, 2025. Penney takes over from Shane Bond, who will now focus on the IPL mega auction with Rajasthan Royals, working closely with head coach Rahul Dravid.
Penney’s appointment follows his successful tenure with the Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), where he led the team to consistent high performances, including a runner-up finish in 2022. His leadership has been pivotal in fostering team spirit and driving success.
Expressing his excitement, Penney stated, “I’m honoured to take on the Head Coach role at Paarl Royals. The SA20 is a major tournament, and I’m eager to work with such a talented squad.
