Train Accident in Gonda: One Dead and Seven Injured in Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express Derailment
A tragic train accident occurred near Jhilahi Railway Station in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, where the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed, resulting in one death and seven injuries. Pankaj Singh, CPRO of North Eastern Railway, confirmed the incident and stated that rescue operations have begun with medical vans and ambulances at the scene.
Uttar Pradesh’s Relief Commissioner informed that NDRF teams from Lucknow and Balrampur have been dispatched to Gonda. Five ambulances are currently deployed, and more are being sent. First aid is being administered, and the injured are being transported to hospitals. SDRF teams from three districts are also assisting in the relief operations.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to expedite the relief work and ensure proper treatment for the injured. He has also wished for their speedy recovery. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is monitoring the situation and is in contact with relevant authorities.
