Tragic Road Accident in Mirzapur
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims who died in a road accident in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. In a post on X, PM Modi stated, “The road accident in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, is extremely painful. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families of those who lost their lives in it. May God give them strength to bear this pain.”
On Friday night, a tragic collision between a truck and a tractor near Katka village in the Kachhwan police station area resulted in the death of ten laborers and injured three others. The accident occurred on GT Road at the Mirzamurad Kachhwa border when a truck lost control and hit a tractor carrying 13 people traveling from Bhadohi district to Banaras. The deceased were laborers returning to Varanasi after working on roof construction in Bhadohi.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to Banaras Hindu University (BHU) hospital for treatment. PM Modi also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured and mentioned that the local administration, under the state government’s supervision, is actively assisting the victims.
Union Health Minister and BJP President JP Nadda also expressed his sorrow over the accident, stating, “The news of many people getting killed in a road accident in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh is extremely sad. The local administration is engaged in relief and rescue work with full readiness. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
The accident occurred at 1 am on Friday morning. Mirzapur Superintendent of Police, Abhinandan, confirmed that an FIR is being registered and further legal action is underway.
