Discovery of the Incident

On September 27, the police were alerted at 10:18 am by a neighbor named Ratan, who noticed a foul smell coming from the house. When the police arrived, they broke the lock and discovered the bodies.

Details of the Deceased

Hira Lal, 50, had been working as a carpenter at Spinal Injury Hospital in Vasant Kunj since 1996. He lived with his daughters Neetu, Nishi, Neeru, and Nidhi, who had disabilities and were unable to walk. His wife had passed away a year ago from cancer.

Investigation Findings

According to the police, CCTV footage showed Hira Lal entering the house on September 24, and the door remained locked from the inside since then. Sulphaz pouches were found at the scene, indicating poisoning. The bodies were found with white froth near their mouths, and a red sacred thread was tied around the stomach and neck of the four girls.

Neighbor’s Account

Ratan, a neighbor, mentioned that the family was rarely seen outside and that the children never left the house. He last saw Hira Lal 3-4 days ago. The police are continuing their investigation to understand the circumstances leading to the deaths.
