Tragic Incident at IIT Delhi: MSc Student from Jharkhand Found Dead

A 21-year-old MSc student at IIT Delhi, originally from Deoghar, Jharkhand, was found dead in his hostel room. The incident is suspected to be a suicide, according to Delhi police. The student’s room was locked from the inside, leading friends and staff to break a window to enter, where they found him hanging.

No suicide note was discovered, but the student’s medical records indicated he was under psychiatric treatment and had an appointment scheduled for October 29. He was declared dead upon arrival at Safdarjung Hospital.

The police have informed the student’s parents and are conducting further investigations. A mobile crime team inspected the room, and statements from the deceased’s friends have been recorded. The investigation is ongoing under section 194 of Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita.
