Tragic Flooding in Delhi Coaching Centre Claims Lives of Three Students
Three students, Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni, and Nivin Dalwin, tragically lost their lives due to flooding in the basement of a coaching institute in Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar. Shreya Yadav’s body was taken from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital after a post-mortem.
Relatives of Shreya Yadav are demanding a case of culpable homicide against the institute’s owner. Dharmendra Yadav, a relative, stated, “Those who have given birth only know the value of life, and it shouldn’t be lost due to mismanagement.”
Delhi police have arrested two individuals, the owner and coordinator of the IAS coaching centre. Delhi Minister Gopal Rai announced that the government has instructed a swift investigation into the deaths. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has also been directed to take immediate action against illegal coaching institutes operating in basements.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena expressed deep anguish over the incident, calling it “unfortunate and unacceptable.” He has directed the Divisional Commissioner to submit a comprehensive report by Tuesday.
