In a heartbreaking incident in Howrah, West Bengal, three children lost their lives when a fire broke out in a house during the Kali Puja celebrations. The fire occurred in Uluberia town, and upon receiving the alert, two fire tenders rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames.

Fire Officer’s Statement

Divisional Fire Officer of Howrah, Ranjan Kumar Ghosh, reported that the charred bodies of the children, aged 9, 4, and 2.5 years, were recovered from the house. The bodies have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examinations.

“We received information about a fire in a house. Two fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot as soon as the information was received. The fire has been extinguished but three children (9 yr old, 4 yr old and 2.5 yr old) lost their lives in this incident. The charred bodies were recovered from the house and it has been sent to the hospital for the post-mortem. The fire tenders did their work effectively otherwise more houses could have burnt in this incident,” said Officer Ghosh.

The quick response by the fire department was crucial in preventing the fire from spreading to other houses, averting a larger disaster.
