Tragic Drowning Incident at Bhushi Dam in Lonavala

On Sunday, a family outing turned into a tragedy near Bhushi Dam in Lonavala, Pune. Three people, including two children, drowned while two others are still missing.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred at around 12:30 pm at a waterfall behind Bhushi Dam. The victims have been identified as Shahista Ansari (36), Amima Ansari (13), and Umera Ansari (8). The missing children are Adnan Ansari (4) and Maria Sayyad (9).

Rescue Efforts

According to Superintendent of Pune Rural Police, Pankaj Deshmukh, the family was enjoying a day out when some members got too close to the waterfall and were swept away by strong currents. A rescue operation involving Lonavala Police and emergency services is ongoing to find the missing children.
