Tragic Discovery in Balochistan: Mohsin Found Dead in Kech Forest

A body riddled with bullets was discovered in the Dazan Tump forest in Kech district, Balochistan province of Pakistan. The victim, identified as Mohsin, son of Baig Muhammad, was originally from Mand but lived in Gomazi. Local police reported that Mohsin had been shot, and his body was taken into custody before being handed over to his family after legal formalities.

Such incidents are not uncommon in Balochistan. In August, five bodies were found tied to an electricity pole in Chaghi town, near the borders with Afghanistan and Iran. These bodies appeared to have been brutally executed and were taken to the district headquarters hospital in Chaghi for identification.

Balochistan is home to several violent groups that frequently attack state forces, demanding a greater share of the region’s resources and expressing concerns over the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Recently, another youth named Zubair Baloch was reportedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces in Gwadar. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings are a longstanding issue in Pakistan, often targeting human rights defenders and minority groups critical of the government and military. In a recent incident, two lawyers in Quetta were forcibly disappeared but were released following protests from legal bodies.
