Tragic Blast in Ahmedabad’s Odhav Nagar Industrial Area

Two Dead, Three Injured

A blast occurred at the Bansi Powder Coating firm in the Odhav Nagar Industrial Area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Monday. The explosion resulted in the deaths of Rameshbhai Patel, the owner of the firm, and Pawan Kumar, a worker. Three others were injured in the incident.

The initial investigation revealed that a fire broke out in a compressor located near an LPG gas cylinder, causing the explosion. The fire department officials arrived swiftly to investigate the matter.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem at the nearby civil hospital, while the injured are receiving treatment at the nearest Arogya Kendra.

SS Gadhavi, the Nikol Fire Station Officer, stated, “The blast occurred at the Bansi Powder Coating firm in Odhav Nagar Industrial area. It was a powder coating firm, hot processing is done for powder coating, there was some pressure in the oven, so the blast happened. Two casualties have happened and three people were injured. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.”

He further mentioned that there is no provision of Fire NOC (No Objection Certificate) in the industrial area. The fire department and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team are further investigating the matter.
