In Shastri Nagar, New Delhi, a tragic accident occurred early Monday morning when a truck veered onto the central road verge and hit five people who were sleeping. Three people died, and two others, Mustaq and Kamlesh, were seriously injured.

Details of the Incident

Dr. Joy Tirkey, DCP North East Delhi, reported that a PCR call was received at 4.56 am regarding the accident. The truck, coming from Seelampur and heading towards Iron Bridge, climbed onto the central verge and ran over the sleeping individuals. The driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.

Police Actions

The injured were immediately shifted to JPC Hospital. Efforts are ongoing to identify the three deceased males and to apprehend the driver. Further investigation is in progress.
