Six People, Including a Baby, Lose Their Lives
In Karimganj, Assam, a tragic accident occurred when an auto-rickshaw collided with a car. The accident took place in the Nilam Bazar area of the district, resulting in the deaths of six people, including an 18-month-old child. One person was seriously injured and has been referred to Silchar Medical College & Hospital.
Karimganj Superintendent of Police Partha Protim Das confirmed the incident, stating, “Six people, including an 18-month-old child, died in the accident. One person was seriously injured in the incident and referred to Silchar Medical College & Hospital.”
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his deep sorrow over the incident. In a post on X, the Chief Minister’s Office stated, “HCM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is deeply saddened by the loss of 6 precious lives in an unfortunate accident in Patharkandi. HCM expresses his heartfelt condolences to the kith and kin of the deceased.”
