Tragic Accident in Delhi: Uncontrolled DTC Bus Claims Two Lives

In a tragic incident in New Delhi, two individuals lost their lives after being struck by an uncontrolled Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus in the Civil Lines area. The accident occurred when the bus hit a person and a police constable, both of whom were declared dead. The police constable, identified as Victor, was 27 years old and a resident of Nagaland. He was on patrol duty on a PCR bike and had been stationed at the Civil Lines Police Station since June 2023. The identity of the other deceased person has not yet been confirmed.

The police received information about the accident at approximately 10:38 PM on Sunday. Investigations revealed that the bus veered onto the pavement, collided with a billboard pole, and then struck the two victims before crossing the road and hitting a divider. The bus had no passengers except for one DTC official.

The driver, Vinod Kumar, a 57-year-old resident of Ghazipur, has been taken into police custody, and legal proceedings are underway. This incident follows another recent DTC bus accident on October 31, where two passengers sustained burn injuries due to a fire caused by crackers.
