Tragic Accident in Delhi: Uncontrolled DTC Bus Claims Two Lives
In a tragic incident in New Delhi, two individuals lost their lives after being struck by an uncontrolled Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus in the Civil Lines area. The accident occurred near Monastery Market on Ring Road, as reported by the Delhi Police on Sunday.
Details of the Incident
The bus, which was in a breakdown state, hit a person and a police constable before ramming into a road divider. The police constable, identified as Victor, a 27-year-old resident of Nagaland, was on patrol duty at the time. Unfortunately, both victims were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The identity of the other victim remains unknown.
Investigation Underway
The police received information about the accident at approximately 10:38 PM. An inquiry revealed that the bus ran onto the pavement, hit a billboard pole, and then crossed the road, hitting the divider. The driver, Vinod Kumar, a 57-year-old resident of Ghazipur, has been taken into custody. Legal action is being pursued, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team is investigating the cause of the accident.

Earlier, on October 31, another incident involving a DTC bus occurred when crackers caught fire, injuring two passengers. The fire was caused by a passenger carrying a small quantity of crackers.
