Tragic Accident in Damoh: Nine Dead After Truck Collides with Auto Rickshaw
A tragic accident occurred in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, when a truck collided with an auto rickshaw near Samanna village on the Damoh-Katni state highway. The accident happened on Tuesday evening, resulting in the immediate death of seven people. Three others were severely injured and taken to Jabalpur for further treatment.
During treatment, two more people, including a child, succumbed to their injuries, raising the death toll to nine. One woman remains under treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
Damoh Collector Shudhir Kumar Kochar confirmed the details and stated that the administration is closely monitoring the situation. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his condolences and announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. He also emphasized that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the accident.
