TMC Leader Kunal Ghosh Urges President and Home Minister to Address Crimes Against Women

TMC leader Kunal Ghosh has called on President Droupadi Murmu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the rising crimes against women in India. Ghosh highlighted that an average of 90 such cases occur daily. His comments come amid nationwide outrage over the murder and rape of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata.

Ghosh criticized the CBI for not providing any significant updates on the investigation, noting that only one arrest has been made by Kolkata police. He also mentioned allegations that a police officer offered money to the victim’s family, which the family has denied.

Meanwhile, BJP West Bengal General Secretary Locket Chatterjee has demanded a probe into Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s role, alleging the crime was organized. BJP national spokesperson Amit Malviya also accused the West Bengal government and RG Kar Hospital of lying about the date of renovation at the crime scene.

The body of the trainee doctor was found on August 9, sparking nationwide protests. A civic volunteer and Dr. Sandip Ghosh have been arrested in connection with the case.
