TMC Leader Kunal Ghosh Responds to BJP MP Saumitra Khan’s Remarks on West Bengal Violence

TMC leader Kunal Ghosh has accused the BJP of spreading distorted facts about the recent violence in Chopra and Cooch Behar, West Bengal. He stated that the issue is a social problem and not related to any religion. Ghosh praised the prompt response of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the government in handling the situation.

Ghosh said, “BJP is running a completely distorted campaign with distorted facts. This is not a problem for Hindus or Muslims, it is a social problem. The CM and the government responded very promptly, and the accused has been arrested while the victim has been provided with security.”

Earlier, BJP MP Saumitra Khan criticized the incident, questioning if India is becoming a Muslim nation. He raised his concerns in Parliament, asking if West Bengal is aligning with Bangladesh.

A video had emerged showing a man assaulting a woman in Chopra, Uttar Dinajpur. The police arrested the accused, Tajmul Haque, and provided security to the victim. The Islampur Police stated that efforts are being made to spread misinformation about the incident.
