Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for alleging that the TMC protects Rohingyas while neglecting people from other states. This follows an incident where two students from Bihar were harassed in West Bengal.

Border Security Responsibility

Kunal Ghosh stated that the responsibility for border security lies with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Border Security Force (BSF). He questioned how Rohingyas are crossing the border if the central government is in charge of these areas.

Incident in Siliguri

Earlier, two young men from Bihar were threatened and harassed in Siliguri, West Bengal, by individuals linked to Bangla Pokkho, a pro-Bengali advocacy group. The incident gained attention after a video went viral on social media.

Police Action

Biswachand Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Siliguri, announced that two suspects, Rajat Bhattacharya and Giridhari Roy, were arrested by Bagdogra police. The suspects allegedly posed as Intelligence Bureau (IB) officers and harassed the students.

Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
