Tis Hazari Court Orders Delhi Police to Provide Documents in Bibhav Kumar Case

The Tis Hazari court in New Delhi has directed the Delhi police to supply a list of statements and documents related to the case against Bibhav Kumar. Kumar is accused of assaulting AAP MP Swati Maliwal in May. Judicial Magistrate Gaurav Goyal ordered the police to provide these documents to the accused before the next hearing on October 26.

Advocates Rajat Bhardwaj, Kaustubh Khanna, and Karan Sharma represented Bibhav Kumar, while Additional Public Prosecutor Atul Shrivastava and investigation officer Anjitha Chipyala opposed the applications. Kumar was arrested on May 18 and later granted bail by the Supreme Court. The police filed a charge sheet against him on July 16, and the court took cognizance of it on July 30.

The charges include sections 308, 354, 354 B, 506, 509, 341, and 201 of the IPC. Evidence includes Kumar’s mobile phone, sim card, and CCTV footage from the CM’s residence. The case is currently at the stage of document scrutiny.
