Tim Southee to Retire from Test Cricket
New Zealand’s right-arm seamer, Tim Southee, has announced his retirement from Test cricket following the upcoming home series against England. The series may conclude at his home ground, Seddon Park in Hamilton, just before Christmas.

At 35, Southee has made nearly 400 international appearances and holds the record for the most international wickets by a New Zealand bowler, with 770 wickets. Southee expressed that it was the right time to step away from Test cricket, allowing the next generation of New Zealand bowlers to shine. He stated, “Representing New Zealand was all I ever dreamed of growing up. To play for the Black Caps for 18 years has been the greatest honour and privilege, but the time feels right to now step away from the game that has given so much to me.”
Kane Williamson’s Return
Former captain Kane Williamson returns to the Test squad after recovering from a groin injury. The series against England begins on November 28 in Christchurch, followed by matches in Wellington and Hamilton.
